About Griffin Analytical Technologies

At Griffin Analytical Technologies, Inc., our mission is to produce best in
class chemical detection systems that provide on-site confirmatory analysis
Our focus is on delivering chemical information by leveraging novel mass
spectrometry technology. We deliver value to our customers in broadly
defined environmental monitoring markets, including defense, homeland
security, environmental health & safety, and research & development.

Our Approach

Our commercialization strategies can be divided into three core
competencies:

  1. We develop commercial products in-house;
  2. We conduct joint ventures with third parties in the co-development of
    products, sales, and/or distribution; and
  3.  We sublicense of the technology to third parties to fully exploit
markets outside of our area of expertise.

What does this mean to you? It means that no job is too large or too small.
If you have an idea, we can find a way to execute it. If you need a partner,
we have the necessary expertise to bring your product to the market.

Management Team

Dennis Barket, Jr., Ph.D., Founder & President

Dennis completed his doctoral research in analytical chemistry at Purdue
University in the fall of 2001, where he focused on preparing mass
spectrometers for field trails and environmental research. While at Purdue,
Dr. Barket received funding by a NASA Earth System Science Fellowship Award
He also completed the Applied Management Principles Program through the
Krannert School of Management, which provides science and engineering
graduate students with a ³mini-MBA² experience. Dennis completed his
undergraduate work at Indiana University where he earned a double major in
Biology and Chemistry. Upon graduation, Dennis joined Procter and Gamble as
a Senior Research Associate where he worked in an upstream product
development team. The focus of Dr. Barketıs research at Purdue was on
polymer and targeted delivery technologies.

Garth Patterson, Ph.D., Founder & Vice President of Research and Development

Garth completed his doctoral research at Purdue University under the
tutelage of Dr. R.G. Cooks, the universityıs Henry Bohn Hass Distinguished
Professor. His research at Purdue included alternative detection methods
using quadruple ion trap mass spectrometers, as well as miniaturization
research utilizing the same detection technique. The research is directly
related to the technology being commercialized by Griffin Analytical
Technologies today. In addition to working with Dr. Cooks, Dr. Patterson has
collaborated with Professors Carolyn Brock and Ben Freiser. His findings
have been published in a variety of scientific journals and presented at top
scientific conferences.

David M. Shelby, M.B.A., Vice President of Finance & Business Operations

David has consulted with multiple companies at the Purdue Research Park and
is well-versed in issues pertaining to the commercialization of innovative
products. He has provided CFO and general business services to a number of
established businesses in both Indiana and Illinois. Prior to his
relationship with the Purdue Research Park, David spent twelve years in
commercial finance and held numerous positions in business development,
trust, and commercial lending. In addition to the U.S., he has consulted in
Poland, Canada, and Brazil.

Mark Gregory, M.B.A., Vice President, Manufacturing & Product Development

Mark has more than 20 years of experience in developing and manufacturing
electronic instrumentation. He has helped develop a broad range of products
and services, from cardiac pacemakers to downhole tools (a type of oil field
instrumentation) to clinical diagnostic instruments. Mark was previously
involved in the creation of two successful start-ups and served as President
for more than six years for one of those firms, a medical device contract
manufacturer. Mark received both an M.S.E. (Mechanical Engineering) and an
M.S.E. in Bioengineering from the University of Michigan. The latter of
these two was made possible by a National Institutes Health Training Grant.
In addition, Mark has an Executive M.B.A. from Indiana University.

Rob Donoho, Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Rob has more than 20 years of experience in the sales and marketing of
high-tech capital equipment. Rob began his successful sales career with Dow
Chemical and Hewlett Packard, currently Agilent. During his time there, Rob
became a field technical expert in both tactical and strategic product
positioning. Robıs next position was VP of Sales and Marketing for an
analytical services lab that was expanding into pharmaceutical drug
development. This experience gave him valuable firsthand experience working
with a small business. Prior to joining Griffin, Rob was promoted to
National Sales Manager of SAGIAN before it was purchased by Beckman Coulter
Following that acquisition, Rob became the Manager of Strategic Marketing
and helped to guide product development and marketing for the $100 million
Automated Solutions Development Center. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science
degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
