Dennis Barket, Jr., Ph.D.
Founder and President
Dennis completed his doctoral research in analytical chemistry
at Purdue University in the fall of 2001, focusing on preparing
mass spectrometers for field trials and environmental research.
While at Purdue, Dennis was funded by a NASA Earth System Science
Fellowship Award. He has also completed the Applied Management
Principles Program through the Krannert School of Management,
which provides science & engineering graduate students with
a "mini-MBA" experience. Dennis completed his undergraduate
work at Indiana University with a double major in Biology and
Chemistry. Subsequent to his undergraduate work, Dennis joined
Procter and Gamble as a Senior Research Associate and worked in
an up-stream product development team. Research at P&G focused
on polymer and targeted delivery technologies. |

Garth Patterson, Ph.D.
Founder and Vice President of Research and Development
Garth completed his doctoral research under the tutelage of the
Henry Bohn Hass Distinguished Professor, Dr. R. G. Cooks, at Purdue
University. While at Purdue, his research included alternative
detection methods using quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometers
as well as miniaturization research utilizing the same detection
technique. Therefore, his research is directly related to the
technology being commercialized by Griffin Analytical Technologies.
Garth has worked with Professor Carolyn Brock, Professor Ben Freiser,
as well as Professor Cooks. Garth's findings have been published
in a variety of scientific journals and have been presented at
several top scientific conferences. |

David M. Shelby, M.B.A.
Vice President of Finance and Business Operations
David has consulted with multiple companies in the Purdue Research
Park and is familiar with the issues of commercialization of innovative
products. David has provided CFO and general business services
to a number of established businesses in both Indiana and Illinois.
Prior to his consulting work with emerging companies in the Purdue
Research Park, David spent twelve years in commercial finance,
which included positions in business development, trust, and commercial
lending. He has consulted in Poland, Canada, and Brazil. |

Mark Gregory, M.B.A.
Vice President, Manufacturing and Product Development
Mark has more than 20 years of experience in the development
and manufacture of electronic instrumentation. He has helped develop
a broad range of products from cardiac pacemakers to downhole
tools (oilfield instrumentation) to clinical diagnostic instruments.
Mark was actively involved in the creation of two previous successful
startups, and served as President of one of those firms, a medical
device contract manufacturer for more than six years. Mark received
a B.S.E. (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Michigan.
He also received an M.S.E. in Bioengineering from the University
of Michigan, under a National Institutes of Health Training Grant.
Later in his career, Mark earned an Executive MBA from Indiana
University. |

Rob Donoho
Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Rob has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing
of high tech capital equipment. Rob began his sales career with
Dow Chemical and Hewlett Packard (now Agilent.) While at Agilent,
Rob became a field technical expert in both tactical and strategic
product positioning. Rob’s next stops provided first hand
small business experience. Rob was VP of sales and marketing for
an analytical services lab expanding into pharmaceutical drug
development testing. At his final stop before Griffin, Rob was
promoted to National Sales Manager of SAGIAN before it was purchased
by Beckman Coulter. After the acquisition Rob became the Manager
of Strategic Marketing guiding the $100M Automated Solutions Development
Centers’ product development and marketing. Rob received
his Bachelor of Science from Denison University in Granville,
Ohio. |
