The Griffin 450™ is the mobile, field-ready member of the Griffin family of products. The Griffin 450 utilizes CIT technology, employs shock mounts and is placed in a reinforced ruggedized aluminum cube. Direct air analysis can be performed in the field using the Griffin 450 via the integrated sample loop (for high concentration (ppb-ppm)) or pre-concentrator tube (for low concentration (ppt-ppb)). Additionally, the analytical flexibility of the Griffin 450 is expanded with the use of the 3 lb. Griffin X-Sorber™ handheld sampler. The X-Sorber can be hand carried to any remote location where the user can take time-based or volume-based samples on the dual, reusable sorbent tubes. These sorbent tubes are compatible with other commercially available thermal desorber systems. Upon docking with the Griffin 450, the X-Sorber automatically desorbs and downloads the sample information for real-time analysis. The Griffin 450 can be mounted and operated in moving vehicles, from unmanned aerial vehicles to Hummers, for rapid on-site detection, quantification, identification and confirmation of explosives, chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals.
